What is PIP?
People who need help with everyday life because of a disease, disability, or mental health issue are eligible for PIP. Mobility, if you require aid getting around, and daily living, if you require support with everyday duties, make up the two parts of the PIP benefit payment.
The regular amount for daily living expenditures is £72.65, and the increased rate is £108.55. The usual charge for mobility is £28.70, while the enhanced rate is £75.75. The increased rate of PIP’s daily living component will be immediately available to you if you have a terminal disease.

How Much PIP Rates Will Change From 2024 to 2025?
One of the nine payments, PIP, must be increased yearly by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) under legislative requirements. The Personal Independence Payment (PIP) increased 6.7% on April 8, 2024, in accordance with inflation. It has been confirmed that in April 2025, PIP rates would rise by an additional 1.7%.
Your weekly PIP payments will increase by 1.7% compared to the previous year, in accordance with the September inflation rate, if you are presently receiving it. Accordingly, the PIP components and rates will rise to the following levels starting on April 7, 2025:
- Standard mobility component = £29.20 per week
- Enhanced mobility component = £77.05 per week
- Standard daily living component = £73.90 per week
- Enhanced daily living component = £110.40 per week
Right now, PIP is paid every four weeks, and the most that may be claimed is £737.20. For someone who claims the higher rate for both the mobility and daily living components, this is applicable. When these rates go up in April of next year, the highest amount that may be paid will be £749.80.
PIP Eligibility 2024
A person must be older than 16 but younger than the State Pension age in order to be capable of receiving Personal Independence Payment (PIP). The candidate must be disabled or have a long-term physical or mental health issue that interferes with everyday activities or mobility.
You must also be disabled or have a medical condition that makes daily living and/or transportation more difficult. You must have been dealing with these issues for at least three months and anticipate that they will persist for at least nine months more.
PIP Payment Decision
A medical expert will evaluate you when you apply for PIP to ascertain the rate or rates you are eligible for and how much assistance you need. One or both of the components may be available to you.
A test that gauges how challenging daily chores are for them must be passed. Following a PIP application, the DWP will assess the individual to determine the degree of difficulty they have moving around and performing everyday tasks. Based on the evaluation’s results, the DWP establishes the payment rates.
